Few updates from the weekend for the Normacot, Lightwood area and crime prevention advice.

Police and council operation in Normacot area:

On Friday 31st July, Staffordshire police officers, PCSO's and the Council attended the Normacot area and conducted a joint Police and Council operation by checking vehicles are parking correctly on the road and are not blocking junctions exits or the pavement preventing pedestrians from using them. Further to this, the Council checked and made sure vehicles were not breaching parking restrictions. 

Staffordshire Police issued 4 tickets for TOR's (Traffic Offence Reports), Further to this, Stoke on Trent Council issued 5 parking enforcement tickets for parking offences. 

Sunday 02/08/2026:

On Sunday 2nd August 2026, Staffordshire Police identified a vehicle driving anti-socially in the Normacot Lightwood area. Police stopped the vehicle and seized the vehicle under section 59 for the manner the car was being driven. 

Sunday 02/08/2026:

On Sunday 2nd August 2026, Staffordshire Police were called to a job in Normacot area due to some anti-social behaviour in the area. PCSO's attended the location and identified the suspects that were involved and due to noise complaints and being anti social. This was dealt with accordingly by giving them warns and to reduce the noise in the area. From this we had no further reports for the rest of the night. 

Crime Prevention advice

Recently we have had a number of car thefts from Meir, Blurton, Trentham area. Following this, I thought I'd share some crime prevention advice. Due to most the car thefts happened due to windows being left open at night. It is clear that suspect(s) are taking advantage of insecure doors, windows etc. One of the incidents the suspect climbed through a small window, that was left open, similar to the one in this picture.
